SCRABBLE TIME descriptions and instructions
Why/How to Incorporate SCRABBLE in the Classroom:
- using vocabulary terms or spelling words
- understanding meaning and definition of various words in different subject areas
Set-up/Ways to Play:
- whole class play: one game board (project on a white board from computer or place a hard copy under a document camera). Student comes to board after answering correctly and strategically placing the word on the board to obtain the most points. *you could have a winner from each class or if you teach multiple classes, you could choose to have a class winner*
- individual play or paired/group play: (individual student copy or paired/group copies)
Using SCRABBLE to Reinforce Learning/Understanding:
- pose questions where they have to provide answer
- read definition
