Black History Month Project Who's in Your Family Tree Excel Unit

Welcome to my Who's in Your Family Tree Excel Project. In this project students will gather information at home, on the research sheet provided, about their extended family. We will use that information in class to build a spreadsheet all about their extended family. Using the sorting and filtering tools, we will build 2 more spreadsheets grouping together relatives that have specific things in common. This is a really fun project that I taught several years ago. It is relatively easy as it does not involve any research other than to interview your extended family! :)
Skills taught in this curriculum include Sorting, Filtering, Auto Fit, Changing the Font, Size, Color and Fill Color of cells, Cell Addresses, Rows, Columns, Merge and Center and Borders. This curriculum includes step by step, easy to follow lesson plans a sample of the finished project, research sheets and a parent letter explaining the project and what the students are required to do at home. As always with my curriculum, no previous computer experience is required.
