Black History Biography and Quilt Activity
Your students will absolutely enjoy completing this cross-curricular activity!
Black History Month is celebrated in February each year. It’s an important time to honour and remember the many people who have helped, and are continuing to help, shape the world we are living in. This activity exposes students to the stories and faces of notable Black Canadians whose lives, struggles, and tireless efforts have had significant contributions to Canada’s history. Students will research and create “quilt” pieces that showcase the lives and achievements of an individual of their choice.
