What educators are saying

Very creative way to involve students in decorating the classroom and promoting financial literacy. I also like how it can serve and reflection and review!
I offered the advertisement project as a choice for a final project. I'm excited to use student work to promote my personal finance course. The bulletin board is colorful and fun! Every student created a coin to add ownership to our class decor! Thank you!

Description

Are you looking for an end-of-course project to do with your personal finance, financial literacy, or FCS students? I love doing this project to finish my semester and recruit students for the following year.

In this project students complete a Benefits of Financial Education activity that requires some google research as well as reflection on what they have learned/completed in class. Once they are done, they use the information from the activity sheet to share their top piece of money advice for other students in the school via a gold coin that will be added to the video game-themed bulletin board.

They will also have the optional assignment of creating a digital Smart Money Tip poster on Canva using a digital template file included in this resource. These can then be printed and posted around the school to raise awareness of the importance of financial literacy AND recruit students for your course(s) in the following years. You could even strategically use them on parent information nights to inform parents about the course.

Included in this resource:

  • Benefits of Financial Education Activity Sheet - PDF and Google Document
  • Your 2 Cents student money tip coin sheet
  • Smart Money Tip poster - Canva Template file
  • Level Up with Financial Literacy Bulletin board printable pieces
  • Teacher Instructions and suggested tips for use
