Below Grade Level Assessments for Reading Wonders Grade 2 Unit 2 (freebie)

These below grade level assessments are for Reading Wonders Grade 2 Unit 2. The stories are from the WonderWorks intervention program. However, I wanted the questions to be more reflective of the types of questions found in the on-grade level passages. I have retyped the passage and rewritten the questions. I have also added a written response question for students respond to by writing a complete sentence.

Many of my students are unable to independently read these passages. For these students, I read the passage to the students aloud. Then I am still able to assess some vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension each week. If my students are able to read the passage, I have them do it independently and then give them an approaching level passage as a read aloud assessment.

These passages would also be good for additional practice for on level students.
