Below Grade Level Assessments for Reading Wonders Grade 2 Unit 1 (freebie)

These below grade level assessments are for Reading Wonders Grade 2 Unit 1. The stories are from the WonderWorks intervention program. However, I wanted the questions to be more reflective of the types of questions found in the on grade level passages. I have retyped the passage and rewritten the questions. I have also added a written response question for students respond to be writing a complete sentence.

Many of my students are unable to independently read these passages. For these students, I read the passage and students aloud. Then I am still able to assess some vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension each week. If my students are able to read the passage, I have them do it independently and then give them an approaching level passage as a read aloud assessment.

These passages would also be good for additional practice of on level students.
