How Does It Work?

  • Students view and read the letters from a timed Google Slides presentation.
  • As the student completes each task, you will use the Google Sheets spreadsheet to show student mastery.
  • When you click the checkmarks on the spreadsheet, the number will automatically be totaled.

The beginning of the year assessment will assess students on:

  • one-to-one correspondence
  • cardinality
  • conservation
  • counting forwards and backwards 0-10
  • writing numbers 0-10
  • identifying the number of a set of objects, 1-10
  • subitizing 10 frames

The middle of the year assessment will assess students on:

  • representing numbers 0-10 with pictures or objects
  • identifying one more and one less
  • addition and subtraction facts within 5 (+1 -1)
  • counting to 50
  • identifying the number of a set of objects 10-20
  • subitizing within 5
  • determining whether the number of objects in a group is greater than, less than, or equal to another group within 5
  • identifying 2D

The end of the year assessment will assess students on:

  • representing numbers 10-20 with pictures or objects
  • identifying one more and one less
  • addition and subtraction facts within 5 (+2 -2)
  • counting to 100
  • identifying the number of a set of objects 10-20
  • subitizing within 10
  • determining whether the number of objects in a group is greater than, less than, or equal to another group within 10
  • identifying 3D shapes

Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
