Beginning Sounds Activities

These 4 activities/games will help reinforce identifying beginning sounds for your students. You will find 4 different activities that can be used in small groups, RTI, centers or independently to reinforce beginning sounds skills.

Beginning Sounds Memory - There are 2 options to play this game. Students can match 2 pictures together that have the same beginning sound. Or they can match the beginning sound of the picture to the letter that makes the same sound. X is not included in this game.

Beginning Sounds Puzzles - Students will match the picture puzzle piece of the letter sound puzzle piece. X is included.

Beginning Sounds I have, Who has - An I have, Who has game that has students say the letter sound on their card and then ask who has the same sound as the picture. X is included.

Beginning Sounds Sorts - 13 sorts are included. Students will cut out the pictures and paste the picture under the correct letter sound. You will find these combinations of sorts:

S & P
T & N
R & M
C & H
D & K
G & L
B & F
J & W
V & Z
X, Y & Q
A & I - Includes words beginning with long & short vowels
O & U - Includes words beginning with long & short vowels
E & I - Includes words beginning with long & short vowels
