Description
Hygiene is an important topic for all! I created this MEGA bathroom bundle to help students, families, teachers, and therapists easily meet personal hygiene needs.
I discovered that many students enjoy structured stories written in a traditional book format, but others are drawn to short one or two page stories. Because of this, I created simple posters that can be used as a daily visual reminder of the longer social narratives.
The included posters can also be used as visual schedules and should be mounted in the area where the action is being performed.
This set of seven social narratives is comprised of 8 ½” * 11” books and corresponding posters for six of the stories including:
- Brushing Your Teeth Social Narrative (17 pages)
- Brushing Your Teeth Poster (2 pages)
- Getting Dressed Social Narrative, one for boys and one for girls (12 pages)
- Getting Dressed Poster, one for boys and one for girls (2 pages)
- Getting Undressed Social Narrative, one for boys and one for girls (13 pages)
- Getting Undressed Poster, one for boys and one for girls (2 pages)
- Hair Brushing Social Narrative (15 pages)
- Hair Brushing Poster (1 page)
- Passing Gas Social Narrative (12 pages)
- Taking a Bath Social Narrative, one for boys and one for girls (12 pages)
- Taking a Bath Poster, one for boys and one for girls (3 pages)
- Taking a Shower Social Narrative, one for boys and one for girls (12 pages)
- Taking a Shower Poster, one for boys and one for girls (3 pages)
- Using the Restroom Social Narrative (19 pages)
- Cleaning Uncircumcised Penis (3 pages)
- Using the Restroom Poster (2 pages)
- Using the Urinal Social Narrative (22 pages)
- Using the Urinal Poster (2 pages)
- Washing Hands Social Narrative (15 pages)
- Washing Hands Poster (1 page)
I have used these stories in the classroom and sent copies home to parents of students who need them. A social narrative is the perfect tool to explain delicate issues to individuals with autism. Many students have difficulty understanding and remembering all of the steps required for hygiene.
These narratives will help explain appropriate actions to maintain good hygiene and simple explanations of why hygiene is important. I recommend that the stories are laminated and bound into a book and the posters are laminated; this will ensure durability and long use! If any of the included stories need modified for your particular situation, feel free to Ask the Seller a Question via the TPT link and I’ll happily make changes as needed.
Great for any child including those with
• Autism (ASD)
• Aspergers
• PDD-NOS
• Emotional Disorder (ED)
• Language Impairment
• Downs Syndrome
