Description

In the pack students will use a variety of models to demonstrate subtracting multiples of 10 without regrouping. Students will use base 10 blocks to show that they can subtract groups of 10 within 120. Students will then be able to use a picture strategy and display thinking as they continue to practice subtracting multiples of 10. Finally, students can use the number line to also connect their thinking. Number lines are first labeled and then students may use a blank model.

Subtract multiples of 10 in the range 10-90 from multiples of 10 in the range 10-90 (positive or zero differences), using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used.
