Balanced Literacy PowerPoint Presentation- Focus on Reading Components

This PowerPoint Presentation was developed for a brand new elementary school when it opened. The reading specialist was charged with providing balanced literacy information to staff so that a basic foundation of how reading will be defined and implemented in our school would be established during our first professional development days. The presentation extensively covers guided reading strategies and setting up for instruction (overview) and it touches on shared reading, independent reading, read alouds, and book clubs/literature circles. Activities were created to supplement this PowerPoint.
