    What's the best way to learn about your students' INTERESTS AND ATTITUDE ABOUT READING? If you had all the time in the world, you could interview each one. Or you could use this DIGITAL or PAPER survey to learn so much about them! Use the information to help you connect your students with good-fit books!

    For the student:

    • Paper or digital survey about hobbies, interests, and reading
    • Two ways to track books tried and/or finished
    • A way to track books to be read in the future

    For the teacher:

    • Valuable information about each student
    • Tracking sheets for meeting with students about books
    • Ways to keep track of what students are reading

    How to use this Back to School Bundle

    • Print out and give students the reading survey in the first weeks of school
    • Have students complete the reading survey online
    • Make a copy of the note page for each student - keep a binder
    • Transfer important information from the survey to the note page
    • As you meet with students, use the information to help them find books and help you track what they're reading
    • Students keep track of and rate what they're reading and what they quit
    • Students track books they hear about from others
    • As the year goes on, students learn what genres and styles they are drawn to
    • Helpful information for discussion with parents and other teachers
