What educators are saying

Bought this for the beginning of year for my first graders. This will be a great review and practice of the alphabet, numbers, and sounds. It gives students the opportunity to color, count, and write in the first week of school as they ease back into school routines. Highly recommend!

During a math sort, students will look at the math pictures, subitize or count the objects, and glue them under the matching number. These are great for whole-class teaching, small group instruction, math centers, independent practice, distance learning, or homework.

    What's Included:

    • 30 different two column number sorts for numbers 0-10

    ✅ BEGINNING SOUND SORTS (YES/NO)

These picture sorts are a hands-on approach to word study and an excellent way for students to learn, practice, and apply phonemic awareness skills. During the picture sort, students compare and contrast the beginning sound of picture cards to an anchor picture to determine if it has the same beginning sound. These are great for whole-class teaching, small group instruction, literacy centers, independent practice, or homework.

    What's Included:

    • Beginning sound sorts for all 26 letters of the alphabet comparing one sound versus not that sound (e.g., /S/ or not /S/)
    • NO PREP printables with all components on one page
    • I Can... poster with center directions

✅ BEGINNING SOUND SORTS (CONSONANT VS CONSONANT)

    What's Included:

    • 20 beginning sound sorts comparing two consonant sounds
    • NO PREP printables with all components on one page
    • I Can... poster with center directions

    Additional Information:

    • There are five pictures per anchor sound (10 total pictures for each sort)
    • Students do not need to know all of the letter names to do these sorts. The purpose is for them to learn, practice and apply the one anchor sound and connect it to that letter name.
    • To extend the learning, students can write the beginning sound (or all sounds they hear) for each picture on or near the picture.

    • 20 different Draw and Write pages
    • Three different page formats to choose from (primary writing lines, plain writing lines, and a larger picture area with plain writing lines)

    • Two optional covers to choose from if you'd like to bind or staple the pages into a book

    HOW TO USE:

Using the “doodle” as a starting point, students finish the picture and then write about it. The writing may be a simple sentence or two about the picture (e.g., I see the red kite. The kite is in the sky.) or a complete story about the adventures of a lost kite. These pages can be used to write an opinion, a narrative, and/or an informative writing.

    Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
