Back to School Braille Activity

This is a great alternative to traditional Back to School crossword puzzles or word searches.

Not only will students enjoy figuring out the mystery words, but they will also become familiar with an alternative form of communication using the Braille Alphabet.

This activity comes with two pages that can be copied front/back and folded to create a mini booklet. A Braille Alphabet is included that students can refer to while completing the activity, as well as a teacher’s key.

The children's book “Six Dots: A Story of Young Louis Braille” by Jennifer Bryant pairs wonderfully with this activity. The inspiring story details the life of a blind boy so determined to read that he invented his own alphabet.
