Materials needed for each activity:

• Individual Skittles packs for each student (need 8, 12, or 16 depending on the final template you choose)
• Napkins/Paper towels/Plastic Bags
• Brainstorming Sheets (included)
• Final Papers (included)
• Crayons/Colored Pencils

Activity Directions:

1. Pass out skittles packs & napkins.
2. Have students open their skittles and sort them by color.
3. Count how many they have of each color.
4. Number the correct lines under each color on the brainstorming sheet. For example, if you have 3 reds, write 1-2-3 under the "red" column. (Have your kids do this so they can enjoy eating the skittles as they work on brainstorming.)
5. Have students follow the directions on the brainstorming sheet to list things they are thankful for.
6. Edit for misspelled words.
7. Transfer work over to the final copy paper.
8. Color each section according to the color skittle it was. Ex: All sections about hobbies will be colored green. To make a rainbow effect, students need to spread all of their different colors out across their page.
