    Description

    These lesson plans, created by the Teaching Artists from Transcendence Theatre Company, are provided to you complete with scripts for you to just READ ALOUD. Lead your students through exciting educational experiences, crafted with Universal Design Learning, for students grades 1-3! 

    Bundle Packet Grades 1-3:

    In this bundle, you will receive 7 fun and engaging lessons that explore character creation, story telling, adjectives, and conflict. You will receive the following Lesson Plans in this bundle:

    “Fables and Pantomime”-In this lesson students will engage in listening to a fable and then retell the story through Story Mapping the beginning, middle, and end. Then they will jump to their feet to recreate the story through Pantomime.

    “Create a Comic Book”-In this lesson students will expand their knowledge of Story Mapping through art. Students will listen to a fable and create a Comic Book Story Map based on the sequential events of the fable.

    “Bringing a Picture to Life”-In this lesson students will bring a picture to life through Tableau and Pantomime. Then students will create their own story based on the given picture by deciding what they think happened before and after what they see.

    “Drawing Before and After Scenes using a Picture”-In this lesson students will analyze a single picture and then decide what they think happened before and after what they see. Then students will use their artistic skills to draw what they think happened before and after, creating an entire story based on a single image.

    “Creating Characters and Setting with Adjectives”-In this lesson students will dive into learning about adjectives and their effective use in detailed storytelling. Then students will use their new found knowledge of adjectives to create fun and imaginative Hero and Villain characters.

    “Adjectives, Setting, and Story Mapping”-In this lesson students will expand their knowledge of adjectives and learn about the importance of Setting and where stories take place. Then students will use their imagination to create their own, unique Setting that could be used in the next best selling book.

    “Problems and Solution through Pantomime”-In this lesson students will be introduced to Problem and Solution and where it usually occurs in the sequence of a story. Then students will practice identifying different problems and solutions while acting out given scenarios through Pantomime. 

    ***All TTC EDU curriculum is developed alongside Common Core State Standards, Visual and Performing Arts Standards, and English Language Development Standards.
