Description

Technology Education (aka.- Industrial Technology, Industrial Arts, Technical Education, or TE) is a very dynamic discipline, in the sense that is constantly changing and evolving. Much like the technology, TE has struggled for so long with semantics and educators passionate to keep certain trades they are skilled and prepared to teach. Many of the soft skills they teach are needed, but there are innovative techniques that incorporate modern careers better.

The best way to describe TE fairly is to look at it from multiple perspectives. The national view, the state or district view and the classroom view all have unique characteristics. The national view is obviously all-encompassing while our district view meets our community needs. Ultimately a district must define the depth and breadth for the scope of the TE curriculum. Each of these perspectives also provides different points of view with relation to Environmental Design. Unique and complex, each of these perspectives were considered in the design of the program.
