This resource is intended to help students describe their artwork using full sentences and to support them in evaluating their own or peer work using ‘Glow’ and ‘Grow’ prompts. This one-page printout is split into two columns; a column for 'glow' sentence starters and 'grow' sentence starters, with some idea prompts to identify where a student did well or where a student could make improvements.
Inspiration:
I originally designed this resource during my teacher training year as I noticed students not only struggled to write in full sentences when evaluating their own or peer work, but they also struggled to identify areas of improvement. This document worked well laminated and was available on tables when needed.
This product has been updated to (US) English.
Implementation Ideas:
- Print out and laminate and keep on desks as a handy reference guide.
- Stick into sketchbooks or keep them in folders.
- Use as part of a lesson to practice self or peer evaluation.
- Use as part of a lesson to practice writing in full sentences.
- Print in color or black and white.
