Area and Perimeter of Parallelograms, Rectangles, and Triangles

These matrix dominoes were created for a 6th grade class to review computing perimeter and area for parallelograms, rectangles and triangles.
The object of Matrix Dominoes is to create a 3 column by 5 row grid of dominoes. Each domino has a problem on one end and a solution to a different problem on the other end. Touching ends should match up a problem to its solution. Right and left sides of the matrix should also pair up to be problems and their answers. You can start with a blank grid or to simplify it supply some the dominoes in place. I do not know how many solutions there are but there will be some combinations that would not allow all dominoes to be used. All dominoes played may have the correct relationship but there might be a few left that just don’t fit the configuration the player has set up. This is like a game of solitaire that can’t be finished.
Cut the dominoes and shuffle them. You might want to have the dominoes laminated and keep the cards in a baggie. We use matrix dominoes as a station where students rotate through a set of different activities for the class period.
