What educators are saying

This was just what I needed for Arbor Day. My students enjoyed the passage and were able to answer questions. Thank you.
This was just what I needed to go along with a poster contest that our students compete in every year!

Description

Arbor Day Differentiated Reading Passages for Upper Elementary and Middle Grades! This 18-page packet is full of great resources to make it easy for you to plan meaningful academic discussions about the history behind why Arbor Day exists. Students will love learning about planting trees, memories, and the tradition behind why we observe this day.

This packet includes the following:

Differentiated Reading Passages and Writing Prompts:

Labeled with one star (grades 4 & 5) or two stars (grades 6 & 7), students will have the ability to read and understand the reasoning behind why we celebrate this holiday. There is also a page with a list of activities to celebrate Arbor Day, fun facts, and two writing prompt pages (plain with lines and a lightly shaded tree planted in the soil with lines).

Words to Know Vocabulary:

Students can familiarize themselves with words about Arbor Day, write definitions, and draw an illustration.

Reading Assessment:

A one-star assessment is a 7 question assessment with vocabulary, comprehension, and short answer responses. A two-star assessment includes 10 questions with the same categories.

Answer keys are included for the vocabulary and assessments.

A Google Slides digital link isincluded to be viewed and saved in Google Drive and shared in Google Classroom (perfect for students who may be absent or have students work digitally). Plus, there is an extra set in Google Slides where students can have the text read to them using text-to-speech.
