What educators are saying

This was a lesson I decided to use when I flipped my classroom for the week since it came with a tutorial video. It is truly a great resource.
My students were having a hard time understanding this topic. It was just what they needed. Thank you for sharing!

Description

Algebra 1 notes and in class practice over Systems of Linear Inequalities Word Problems. This is an involved concept and typically difficult for many Algebra students.

Given a word problem, students will:

identify variables

write a system of linear inequalities

graph the system, showing all possible combinations for the situation.

Two examples are included in the notes. Student practice includes 3 problems modeled like the notes; this is enough for class work only and not homework - I typically only assign class work for this concept as students often struggle on their own.

TUTORIAL VIDEO included (no prep to you!) and can be found on my YouTube Channel: Mandy’s Math World - the video is on the Systems of Equations and Inequalities Unit Playlist! This is GREAT for students who are absent or who need to see the lesson again!

This is lesson 11 in my Systems of Equations and Inequalities Unit Bundle!

Represent constraints by equations or inequalities, and by systems of equations and/or inequalities, and interpret solutions as viable or non-viable options in a modeling context. For example, represent inequalities describing nutritional and cost constraints on combinations of different foods.
