What educators are saying
Description
No matter what grade I taught, my students LOVED making glyphs.
They are a quick, easy and fun way to practice listening and following directions.
They also provide a "hard copy" to use as proof that a child does or doesn't.
Completed projects make an adorable bulletin board, as each one will be different.
I've included a colorful "Glyphs!" poster for the center of your display, along with 10 other "directional" posters you can use for little learners. i.e. where left and right are located.
Glyphs are also an interesting way to get to know your students.
If you study apples for back-to-school, this apple glyph makes a nice icebreaker too.
So you can do this glyph with PK kiddos, I’ve included several posters you can show to explain directions.
There’s a smaller, 4-on-a-page pattern for them, as well as a larger, 2-on-a-page template for older kiddos.
To practice data collection & analysis, as well as process of elimination, have students pick a partner and try to figure out which glyph they made.
I’m Diane from Teach With Me, hoping your students enjoy glyphs as much as mine do.
Wishing you a fun-filled fall.
