Description

Animals that Live in the Australian Desert

This Top Seller is great for combining science, social studies, geography, and reading! The Sixth Grade Level W reader takes a closer look at animals found in the Australian desert and how they have adapted to life in this harsh environment of low rainfall and sweltering heat. Your students will learn about bearded dragons, desert dingoes, marsupial moles, the endangered bilby, and other animals of Australia. Specific concepts, skills, and vocabulary targeted in this book are listed on the first page of the nine-page text. And to help reinforce literacy skills involving reading comprehension, language, and writing, the book comes with several accompanying activity pages.

Animals that Live in the Australian Desert is one of my 450+ original leveled books written to incorporate the Fountas and Pinnell leveled vocabulary, Rebecca Sitton spelling words, and general curriculum standards for grades K–6 in the United States. Animals that Live in the Australian Desert can be purchased individually as a Top Seller and in the Sixth Grade Level Collection (e.g., every leveled book can be found in their respective grade level collection except for those titles with an asterisk – see preview). In addition, many of the leveled books can be purchased in various Thematic Collections: Nature & Science (Kindergarten A–B), Nature and Science (First Grade C–I), Social Studies (First Grade C–I), Famous Women in U.S. History (Grades 2–4), Famous African-Americans in U.S. History (Grades 1–3), and Texas: History, People, Industries, and Facts (Grade 4).
