Description

This resource is for children who would like to learn about some interesting mammals that live in South America. It includes 9 mammals - the capybara, alpaca, tapir, sloth, jaguar, capuchin, giant anteater, giant otter and armadillo; as well as a cover page and an 'about mammals' page. Print it as a book or activity. If creating as an activity for young children (3-6 year olds), print the photo and description on reverse sides of thick paper (so they can't see through). Children love to arrange on a mat with the pictures facing down. They can take turns to turn a card over and discuss the animal with a teacher or each other. For older children who can read, print the photo and description on separate cards. They can match the descriptions to the pictures as they read. Our classroom generally prints on A5 size but you can adjust the size as needed. If you need minor edits, please let me know. Perfect for continent studies in Montessori classrooms.
