Animal Research and Habitat Diorama Project

Are you having your students research an animal, but having trouble finding an appropriate research template? This resource was created with primary students in mind. The project includes a Research Book and diorama instructions that may be used for any animal. Students may pick their own animal or teacher may assign it. Each page of the Research Book includes a sentence starter or fill-in-the-blanks for students to record information. Students also illustrate each page. The research topics include the following:

• animal name
• classification
• location
• habitat
• diet
• size
• appearance
• life span
• predators
• fun facts

The file also includes a family letter, diorama instructions/examples, diorama planning sheet, and a rubric.

This project may be completed with or without the diorama portion. If you choose to include the diorama in the assignment, I have also included a rubric for grading.
