What educators are saying

A great resource for Animal Farm! My students found it engaging, and it was easily adaptable to fit their needs.

Description

This product contains chapter questions for George Orwell's brilliant satire, Animal Farm. You will also receive extension activities to use after certain chapters, and at the end of the novel.

The chapter groupings are as follows with the extension activities noted underneath certain question sets:

  • Chapters 1-2 Questions

Creative Response--students write an editorial or news story for either humans for animals.

  • Chapters 3-4 Questions

Propaganda Techniques--Students look up commonly used propaganda techniques and respond to each of them with an example.

  • Chapter 5 Questions
  • Chapters 6-7 Questions

No Pigs Writing Response--this prompt asks students to respond to a publisher's suggestion that Orwell change the pigs in his novel to another type of animal.

  • Chapters 8-9 Questions
  • Chapter 10 Questions

Post-Reading Theme Evaluation--this chart requires that students respond to a theme (four are provided) with their own personal response and quotes from the text to support their ideas.

Please Note: Keys are included for all question sets, plus the propaganda worksheet, and suggestions are provided for the "No Pigs" writing response. There is no key for the first creative response (writing a news story) or the post-reading theme evaluation (chart). Please see preview for a look at what you will receive.
