Animal Coverings and Characteristics
What educators are saying
Description
UPDATED 07/29/22
This activity set is a compressed file that contains 4 different activities that encourage collaborative learning, academic conversations, and deeper learning as it pertains to animal characteristics. There are 3 different paper activities (that could be used in a digital platform like Kami) to assess student learning and understanding.
This bundle incorporates all aspects of TEKS 1.10A - investigating how the external characteristics of an animal are related to where it lives, how it moves, and what it eats. This bundle has vocabulary cards, a brief informational portion to show to your students whole-group with real-life pictures, gradable activities, conversation starting pictures, and two Lead4Ward activities.
The bundle includes 3 different options for a "4 Corners" activity, allowing students to determine animal coverings, how they move around (run, hop, swim, fly), or where they spend most of their time (land, water, air). Also included are picture cards to print and laminate so you can use them over and over again!
Also included are several pages to use Lead4Ward strategy "Odd One Out." After students have had conversations about which does not belong, they can complete an activity on their own for teacher monitoring of understanding.
