This 13-page Historical Inquiry with Graphic Organizer invites students to answer the following historical question: What is the historical legacy of Angela Davis?
Students read about her contributions to civil rights, feminism, and LGBT+ rights through several sources. Students see a diverse and balanced approach to her legacy by reading constructive criticisms of her legacy as well. In the end, students will understand the complexity of her legacy while formulating their own perspective.
This activity would be great for an African American Studies, Ethnic Studies, US History, or LGBT+ History course.
