Anatomy: Digestive System Hands-on Diagram with Cut-Outs and Vocabulary Labeling
Description
This activity is a combo! It's jam packed with great hands-on practice by:
- learning the shapes/ structures of digestive system organs
- placing the organs in their correct spot and seeing how they connect to form the digestive system
- labeling the organs with their correct names
- placing the organs' names in the correct spot of where that organ would be to practice word association
- And MUCH MORE
Students have a 2 for 1 practice activity with Danny and Danielle's digestive system practice sheet. First, they begin by cutting out all the organ pieces and trying to arrange them correctly inside of "Danny". Then, Students cut out the words of the digestive system and arrange them onto a new body where that organ would normally be. For ADDED fun, try to have the students combine their cutouts onto one diagram!
This is a great activity as a hands-on opening engagement activity to assess prior knowledge or even close out the unit with a great review. This is designed to be a 20-30 minute activity. It is best if students work in groups to drag and drop the pieces, but this activity can work for individual students. And, although it is designed to be a hands-on piece. All words and pictures can be moved to create a virtual diagram as well.
