Description

This Google Slides presentation addresses the standard NC.7.SP.1. It was created as a test review to mirror the NC Extend I Test.

There is 1 question per slide.

I use this twice during the year:

  • First, I use it as one of my many resources when teaching and assessing the standard. I like to print this 4 pages per sheet and fold the paper into quarters. This way the students are not overwhelmed with information and can only see one question at a time.
  • I use this a second time towards the end of the year as test prep. Instead of printing, I show it as a slideshow to get students comfortable with the format before testing begins.

This is editable. You can make changes as needed, duplicate pages to add your own ideas, etc. I use Patrick Hand or Coming Soon as my font (you may need to click "more fonts" and add this before using and editing). I like this font best for my students with a few exceptions. I will sometimes switch to Comic Sans if numbers or letters appear in a way that specific students struggle to recognize (the numbers 1 and 7 are troublesome for several of my students when Patrick Hand is used.)

Understand that statistics can be used to gain information about a population by examining a sample of the population; generalizations about a population from a sample are valid only if the sample is representative of that population. Understand that random sampling tends to produce representative samples and support valid inferences.
