SO MANY ACTIVITIES INCLUDED:

Whole Group Activities for Teaching Letters and Sounds

• Alphabet Posters: Full color and black & white full page posters for each letter.

• Header cards: Each card includes an upper and lowercase letter. These cards can be used at the top of a pocket chart so that students can sort the picture cards according to their beginning sound. You can also use them to create anchor charts with the picture cards, or on a word wall.
• Picture cards: There are 4 full color and black & white picture cards per letter. These can be used in a pocket chart for sorting or to create anchor charts.

• I Have, Who Has? Alphabet Style: Play this as a whole group game, with 26 cards! Student with the green card reads first, then others follow as their letter is called.

• Alphabet Song Pages: Color and black & white copies of the alphabet song in uppercase and lowercase. Have students color in their copies, and then point to each letter as you sing the ABC song.

Letter and Sounds No-Prep Printables

• 26 Alphabet Morning Work Pages: Students write, color, circle and draw in these beginning sound activity pages. One page for each letter of the alphabet!

• 26 Cut & Paste Sheets: Each sheet features 1 alphabet letter. Students cut out the pictures, sort according to their beginning sound and glue them in place. These print 2 to a page to save paper.

26 Alphabet Bingo Dauber Sheets: Students use a bingo dauber to identify the pictures that begin with the letter on the sheet. These are printed 2 to a page to cut down on paper usage.

• 8 Beginning Sound Identifying Sheets: Students say the name of the picture, identify the beginning sound and write the correct letter on the line – these are differentiated with one set using 10 letters on each page and the other set using just 5 letters per page.

• 6 Color the Beginning Sound Sheets: Students color the pictures according to the code. Differentiated so students can work with 3 or 5 sounds at a time.

• Alphabet Crowns! Students color pictures and write upper and lower case letters on crown. There's a Hip Hip Hooray! hat they can make when they learn all their letters and sounds too!

Letters and Sounds Centers:

• Spin & Graph center: There are 8 different spinners (you can cut them out, laminate and use a brad and a paperclip to create the spinner) with recording sheets. The students spin and then say the name of the picture they land on. Then they decide which letter it begins with and record it on their graphing sheet. Once their graph is complete they write the beginning sound for each picture on their page.

• Roll & Cover/Color Game: Students work in pairs or small groups to roll the dice and then cover a picture that has the corresponding beginning sound. Alternately, you can use the b&w versions and have students color the pictures as they roll the dice. If you’d rather not make a paper dice you can write the letters in permanent marker on a wooden cube from a store such as Hobby Lobby.

Clothespin Matching Game: Students use a clothespin to identify the beginning sound in each picture. To make this game self-checking, just place a small sticker or dot on the back of the card corresponding to the correct letter. When students place the clothespin on the card they can flip it over to see if they were correct!

• Alphabet Match-up: Students can match upper case to lower case letters, letter card to sound card, or even all 3! An extension activity for advanced students would be to arrange the cards in alphabetical order.
