As you prep for back to school, get ready to learn letters with this ABC booklet! Students color and cut out letter and pictures and then glue pictures to letter. Students glue letter craft to sentence sheets and copy the sentence. Teachers and students LOVE this interactive letter craft packet for the entire year!! Each letter craft is easily printable (all pieces on one page).
On the sentence sheets, students copy the sentence on the lines. For example, the sheet says, “Kk is for kite.” Student writes, “Kites fly in the sky.” Students can also come up with their own sentence about the picture.
After cutting and gluing the crafts on the pages, you might differentiate by having students:
1) color the letters
2) write words that start with the letter inside of it. For example, students fill the letter with Ss words: sun, star, Sam.
Here are a few more variations for how to use the product:
1) Students color, cut out, and glue picture to letter craft. Send letter home as you begin to study it to remind parents of the current letter of focus. Then, near the end of the letter study, use the sentence sheet for students to review the letter they have studied. Students draw pictures of objects that start with the letter and copy the sentence.
2) Copy cover and sentence sheets back-to-back to create booklet for students to add crafts to, or add letter crafts to an already-established interactive notebook.
In our classroom, we hang one completed craft above the letter on the word wall so students can make the connection to the beginning sound. As we learn new letters, we get more crafts on the word wall!
