Alphabet, Blends & Digraph Beginning Sound Picture Search Coloring Pages

Are you looking for a no-prep, print and go activity to help your learners practice their alphabet, blends, and digraph letter sounds? This pack includes 2 levels of choices for each sound(s) with a page for each letter, blend combination, and digraph. Your learners will color the pictures that begin with the sound of the page as they find them (this gives additional fine motor skill practice).

I have provided as many obvious pictures that start with the letter sound of the page. However, I know we can all look at a picture and not know what the intended use of the picture may be. With this in mind, I have included an answer key that lists the words being represented and marked on the page where they can be found.

Things to note about this pack:

• There are 2 levels of difficulty included - Set 1 has fewer pictures that are organized in a grid pattern - this is good for beginning learners or children who have difficulty scanning etc. Set 2 has more pictures on the page and there are more pictures to find.
• For the vowel pages, the pictures may start with either the short or long vowel sounds
• The pages for C & G have the hard sound only (as in cat & gum).
• The page for Xx - as you know x is a hard letter as the true sound for x is found at the end of the word and even then there are not many words to choose from. As this pack is focused on the beginning sounds I have used the pictures that begin with x, however, this means on X's page there are not many to find.
• Some pages have more options than others - this is due to available clipart and using pictures that work as black and white (e.g. I can't use blue)
• Digraphs included: ch, qu, sh, th, wh
• Blends included: bl, be, cl, cr, dr, fr, fl, gl, cr, pl, sc, sk, sl, sm, sn, sp, st, sw, tr,
• Pack also includes kn & ph

These pages would be perfect for a morning activity, literacy center, homework, or sending home for distance learning.

Note if you are distance learning you are welcome to copy as many pages as needed for your students to send home.

This pack includes both USA and UK spelling for the word color/colour - just print the pages that suit your classroom best.
