    Little ABC books are simple, uncluttered, and are PERFECT for young children who are just learning the letters of the alphabet. Your kids will have the opportunity to practice letter recognition and phonological awareness as they read and complete a book for each letter of the alphabet. This resource now includes a full-page version of the book that you can add to your class library.

    This resource contains:

    Children will have the opportunity to practice their letter recognition and letter formation in a variety of ways. The set includes finger-tracing cards and 3 styles of letter tracing strips. All of the letters on the alphabet tracing cards and strips inlcude a dot to indicate the starting point for correct letter formation.

    The set includes:

    • a set of finger tracing cards (use with a salt tray or make a finger-tracing book)
    • a set of letter tracing strips with yellow letters
    • a set of letter tracing strips with outline letters
    • a set of letter tracing strips with dotted letters

    Are you looking for clear, easy-to-read alphabet word picture cards for classroom? This simple set lets kids focus on the important information without being distracted by decoration. In addition to a word wall, you can use the set in pocket charts, word rings, or in your writing center

    What is Included in this Word Wall Set:

    • 3 different color options,
    • ABC header cards in 3 different color options
    • 78 word cards with pictures on the left or the right side of the card (There are 3 cards for each letter of the alphabet)
    • additional cards for A, E, I, O
    • additional cards for the letter X (beginning and ending options)
    • templates to make custom word cards (without pictures)*
    • templates to make name cards* (picture portion of the template is available in both Word and as a Google Doc.)

    The cards measure approximately 7 x 2.5 inches. You will find a large, clear, easy-to-read font along with a picture on each card.

    *You will need the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to edit the custom word cards. The picture template for the name cards is available in both Microsoft Word and Google Docs formats.

    Make Custom Cards to Add to your Word Wall:

    This resource has been updated to include editable cards to make custom word cards in all three colors. The custom word card templates do not include pictures. Use these editable cards to make sight word cards, name cards without photos, or thematic cards.

    Name Cards for Your Word Wall

    I have also included templates to create custom name cards. Creating the name cards is a two-step process. You will create the card with one template and print the children's photos at the appropriate size with the other template. Pictures will need to be cut out and applied to the name cards prior to laminating. The picture template is available in a Microsoft Word file or a Google Docs file. All of the remaining files are PDF's. In addition to name cards, you can use the templates to create thematic cards, environmental print cards, etc

    ABC BEGINNING SOUND SORTING ACTIVITY

    The beginning letter sound matching activity includes a complete set of uppercase and lowercase letter boards plus 52 picture cards. You can easily assemble the picture cards so that they have the name of the pictured object written on the back side of each card.

    Children select a picture card, name the object pictured on the card, determine the beginning sound of that object, and place the card on the corresponding letter board.

    The mats can be laminated so that you can use them over and over again. Use teh black and white alphabet activity mats as take-home activities..

    Each alphabet activity mat contains five sections and will give your students varied opportunities to practice letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and strengthen fine motor skills.

    Each alphabet mat contain the following sections:

    • Alphabet Square - Kids will finger trace the large letters or cover the letter with a coil of play dough, waxed yarn, or manipulatives. Kids can also color the letter

    • Uppercase Alphabet Line- Children will search for and circle the focus letter on the line

    • Beginning Sound Pictures- Children will review the objects pictured, name the objects, practice the beginning sound of the object, search for the letter in each word, andcircle the letter in each word. .The pictures can be colored on the black and white version.

    • Writing Practice- Children will trace the dotted letters and write the letters on the lines.

    • Lowercase Alphabet Line- Children will search for and circle the focus letter

    • Pinning Activity - Place the letter card on a piece of cork or foam. Use a push pin or corn cob holder to poke a hole in the center of each circle on the letter card.
