Description
This little packet has every option you need to celebrate learning a new letter! Create alphabet crafts for the uppercase and lowercase letter, play I Spy, and make alphabet hats! Differentiate activities by challenging students to copy words or write words on their own. (Note that Letter A is listed as an example but is not included in this craft pack. )
Let’s Craft:
Note that the letter craft is the same throughout the packet, but crafts are created in different formats.
-Options 1 and 2: There is an option to print on construction paper and a coloring option, too.
-Option 3: The craft is downsized and printed on a hat for kids to simply color and cut out. Add a hat strip, of course (not included). Students write the uppercase and lowercase letters, followed by a word of their choice that starts with the letter.
In our classroom, we change up our craft options to keep things fresh. We typically choose one of these options to complete for the week. Note that the coloring and cutting options are perfect for alphabet centers.
Let’s Draw:
Also included in this letter packet is an “I Spy” page. Students draw things they see that start with our letter of the week! They refer to the word wall, classmate names, and our letter anchor chart for ideas.
