A few reasons I LOVE this activity for the first week of school are:
1. It gets the kids working as partners (and hopefully meeting new kids)
2. Students are out of their seats, moving around the room.
3. Students learn about their environment and classroom by finding each of the 8 stations
4. Students get to know each other in a unique way (...beyond the 2 truths and a lie or "what is your favorite color")
5. Teachers and paraprofessionals get to know students in a fun, interactive way.
6. Students are able to showcase their creativity, use colors, and showcase their individuality.
7. My #1 reason - This activity builds community! This is a great SEL activity for a math classroom or a general education classroom.
