Description

About this Resource:

This worksheet is designed to be used with the PBS documentary series, Africa's Great Civilizations. This particular worksheet pairs with Episode 3: Empires of Gold, which delves into the history of West Africa cultures involved in the Trans-Saharan Trade system. The episode runs about 50 minutes. Questions include short answer and fill-in-the-blank, as well as an extended response at the end. This would be a good supplement to any class learning about African Kingdoms such as Ghana and Mali.

How to Use:

  • Printable: I have provided a PDF version of the worksheet for easy printing. It is two pages.
  • Digital: I have also included a link to a digital Google Doc version of the worksheet if you would prefer to assign it to students that way. Students can type their answers into the Google Doc once you assign it though Google Classroom - easy peasy!

Where can I access the documentary episode?

You can find the documentary episode at several paid sites such as Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, and PBS (with a Passport subscription). I have also found it on sites like Dailymotion for free, but use at your own risk! Make sure you have access to the documentary episode before purchasing, because the video is NOT included in this product!
