Description

This packet explores the lives of African Spurred Tortoises also known as Sulcata Tortoises. While learning about the 3rd largest tortoise species in the world, students are also learning about the major differences and similarities between turtles and tortoises. In addition to the anatomy, traits, habitats and adaptations of chelonians (turtles and tortoises), students will have art sheets that help them create habitats and color!

This workpacket can be paired with the virtual tortoise feeding encounter at the Santa Barbara Zoo. These can be booked via education@sbzoo.org. Encounters are held over Zoom.
