Addition to 10, Subtraction to 10 Math Games, Card & Board Games Equation Boards

Make practicing core math standards doggone fun and meaningful for your students!

I created these addition and subtraction math games to give students an enjoyable way to practice fluency in addition and subtraction to 5 and to 10. They make the practice meaningful and students were more engaged in their learning and more motivated to play (practice their skills).

The games are easy to learn and set up for young students so you can use them anytime and anywhere - in math groups, in math tubs, during indoor recess, as a free choice option, as take home practice, in centers, etc.

You receive cards, games, equation boards, and SCOOT / center activities giving you a wide variety from which to choose to alleviate boredom and maintain interest.

All resources come in both full color and black and white versions.

Dog Math Cards for Addition & Subtraction to 10 – I created this special set of cards for several reasons:

• To have a set of cards with only numbers 0-5 enabling students to practice addition and subtraction to 10 fluency by adding or subtracting 2 cards.

• To have cards sized slightly larger than playing cards to enable young students to clearly see the images / numbers and easily handle the cards.

• To create interest in using the cards by using a cute dog theme making them more interesting and fun to my students than regular playing cards.

The cards have 4 “suits” (different dogs and colored paws) similar to regular playing cards.

Equation Boards for Addition to 5, Addition to 10, Subtraction to 5, Subtraction to 10 – patterns and instructions are provided for creating equation boards that help students visualize addition and subtraction equations. (Please note these require beads and string that are NOT provided).

Equation Board Printable Pages are also included for students to record the math equations that they discover through playing with the equation boards. You receive pages for addition to 5, addition to 10, subtraction to 5, subtraction to 10.

Hot on the Trail of Math Success Board Game and Game Markers – 2 players compete to see who can follow their trail and reach the doghouse first while practicing addition or subtraction facts.

Bone Up on Addition and Subtraction SCOOT or Center Activity & Printable Pages – Hide the task cards around the room, place them in a center, or bury them in your sensory bin. Students hunt for the bones (task cards) that match the dogs & doghouses on their pages, solve the addition or subtraction equations, and record their answers by the dogs on their pages.

A “Paws-itive” Path for Math Game – 2 players solve addition or subtraction equations in order to reach the end of the path and declare a winner (the player with the most colored paws). Also works on counting skills!

2 game boards included (one without numbered paws and one with numbered paws to 100)

Bury the Bones Math Game – Players compete to solve addition and subtraction equations and be the first one to “bury” (color or cover up) all of their bones.

Includes a game board for addition and a game board for subtraction.

Bury the Bones Bump – Played like the popular Bump Game but students use cards instead of dice so they are using numbers 0-5 to practice addition or subtraction to 10.

Includes a game board for addition and a game board for subtraction.

Fetch Four Addition and Subtraction – Students flip over 2 cards, add or subtract the numbers, and strategically color in the correct ball on the board to try and get four in a row of their color while preventing their opponent from doing the same. Develops critical thinking skills as well as math skills!
