Accountable Talk

As a kindergarten teacher, I have always struggled to have my students truly understand and participate in “Accountable Talk.” This year, I decided to try something different! Hence, came along the “QUACK Method.”

This is a perfect developmentally appropriate way to scaffold and lead an “Accountable Talk” session.

Q uestion: A question I have is…
A gree/Disagree: I agree… I disagree…
U nderstand: Try to understand each other
C ompliment: I like… or A compliment I have is…
K now more: I want to know more about…

I even made a simple tool for students to show a flip card for the following:
I agree!
I disagree!
I am not sure!
I have more questions!
All of the flip cards have a visual to guide their response.
Just simply laminate, cut out, and put on a binder or book ring.
