Description
Have you ever wondered if there was a way to handle student needs without lesson interruptions? One of my secret classroom hacks is to incorporate American Sign Langauge into my routine with my students.
So how does it help? Not only does sign language help to make the classroom more inclusive, but the signs also help eliminate classroom interruptions. For example, instead of a student raising their hand to ask to use the restroom, they can simply sign to you from anywhere in the room while you are instructing, and you can sign back! This eliminates the need to pause a lesson. This also works great when you are meeting with small groups during work time.
Included in this resource are 32 hand-drawn American Sign Language colored posters. All are colorful and realistic, perfect for middle and upper-grade classrooms!
All 32 of the posters feature authentic ASL signs and labels in both English and Spanish! Posters can be printed in both languages, or just one. (That is 96 posters total in this resource)! Check out the full-body versions, the one-page mini posters, or the ASL Clipart series!
Signs included are: Yes, No, Thank You, Stop, Finished, Listen, Hear, Quiet, Water, Bathroom, Help, Hurt, Repeat, Read, Write, Look, Hot, Cold, Good, Bad, Sorry, Please, Share, Play, Wait, Hungry, Who, What, Where, When, Why and How.
Go ahead and give it a try and see if it helps in your classroom!
