What educators are saying

Students loved looking at their bookmarks and knowing what was expected of them. They enjoyed taking them home so they knew what to practice on.

Description

If you're using the American Reading Company's (ARC) literacy curriculum and its Independent Reading Level Assessment (IRLA), this resource is for you!

Use this resource to leave your individual student or small groups an artifact to continue practicing their comprehension and vocabulary power goals! Standards aligned and guided, these bookmarks can be used to help remind students of their comprehension or vocabulary skills, and support their independence and agency.

Created for the comprehension and vocabulary power goals in levels 1B to Black, these are meant for students to interact with as they're reading. Supportive for between conferring, students will have the ability to review and practice their power goal, check in with partners, and more!

Each (or most) power goal bookmarks include:

  • the level of the goal,
  • the name of the goal in student-friendly language (and with academic vocabulary),
  • a description of the comprehension or vocabulary skill, and
  • an interactive section for students to complete as they're independently reading (perfect for conferring!).
