My principal required us to have some form of AR goal/point tracking up in our rooms this year. My students love being able to move their clothespins up the chart! Great incentive!
Description
Does your school require your students to use Accelerated Reader (AR)? If so, this AR Clip Chart is a perfect way to keep your students motivated and progressing towards meeting their goals.
In my class, students are responsible for letting me know when they are ready to clip up. For every 5 AR points, the class gathers around the student who is clipping up. The student announces how many points they now have, the class cheers for the students, and the student gets one piece of candy as a reward. Students also keep up with their points on their AR point tracker.
The chart goes to 100 AR points; however, this doesn't stop my students. When students reach 100 AR points, they get a special 'gold' clip and begin again at 5 for 105 AR points.
My students love this visual display and take a lot of pride in each time they clip up.
