AP Environmental Science Introduction to Biodiversity Lesson BUNDLE

This complete lesson bundle (PowerPoint presentation, guided notes, classwork activity) aligns with AP Environmental Science (APES) AP Environmental Science (APES) 2.1 Introduction to Biodiversity. If you are new to teaching AP Environmental Science or would like to revamp/spice-up your class, you will love these new, fresh PowerPoints that will keep your kids excited and engaged from beginning to end.

What You Will Receive:

• 1. The 18-slide PowerPoint. Please click the video preview above to view the Presentation. It includes a bell ringer/warm-up and slide descriptions to help prepare your lesson and lead class discussion. My PowerPoints are designed to not only engage students from beginning to end, but also cover all the information in the CED as effectively as possible. To achieve this, the lectures inter-weave content, over-arching themes, case studies, and essential learning skills.
• 2. Guided notes without blanks. This is the "key" and I have these for students who have disabilities. This is not included in the price since some people do not use guided notes.
• 3. Guided notes with blanks (again, not included in the price). I give students the entire unit note packet, but if you are just buying the one lesson, it just includes notes for this PowerPoint. Scaffolded notes allow students to watch and listen, while only noting key vocabulary and labeling of diagrams. I find this is the most effective note-taking style.
• 4. A FREE and fun activity that allows students to practice measuring biodiversity in the student and faculty parking lots. There are some free versions of this lab online, but I consolidated and re-wrote this lab so that:
  • a. Students worksheets are 1 page front and back instead of 8 pages
  • b. Questions asked align more with what they are required to know for APES.
  • c. The entire lab can be done in 45-60 minutes
