What educators are saying

Just getting trained in Orton-Gillingham and often have a hard time remembering the spelling generalizations and how to teach it, so this is extremely helpful for me! I also like that there are flashcards so I can practice and test myself to ensure I know them.

Description

This product is a fun quiz for Orton-Gillingham tutors and an advanced quiz for upper level students and all teachers. The product contains 78 flashcards revealing the answers to common spelling generalizations, or rules. For instance, you can learn the answers to the following:

What letter makes no sound of its own?

What 3 letters are never doubled?

What are the three sounds of
"-ed" at the end of a word, meaning past tense?

What is syllable division rule 1?

Do two vowels always make one sound?

What letter is never found at the end of an English word?

What must all words have?

When is the letter "y" a consonant?

answer: The letter "y" is only a consonant at the beginning of a word. When "y" is found anywhere else in a word, it is a vowel.
