Description

This 8-page reference document lists almost 60 literary devices used in poetry and prose, with almost half of the entries being supported by explicit examples from famous authors.

It includes such regular terms as alliteration, assonance, apostrophe, imagery, litotes, metaphor and synecdoche, as well as less well-known expressions such as cacophony, enjambment and trope.

This is a resource that you, as the teacher, will find yourself using time and time again. It might also be given to your upper-level students - they will find it immensely useful in their literature analyses.

This document is provided in WORD for easy text manipulation.
