    Description

This 8th Grade Math Two Step Equations, Multi-Step Equations and Systems of Equations DIGITAL Bundle of 10 digital resources contains an escape room on:

    - solving multi step equations involving combining like terms and variables on both sides - a regular version, Christmas/Winter version, and Martin Luther King Day version which may be used for Black History Month

    - solving two step equations (random GIFs appear when each lock is cracked)

    - solving literal equations (contains random GIFs)

    - finding slope

    - solving systems of equations by graphing (random GIFs)

    - solving systems of equations by substitution or elimination (or both)

    - writing and graphing linear equations using slope intercept form with random GIFs

    - and a task (not escape room) on solving two step equations to assess students' levels (no GIFs)

In these standards-based, engaging 8th Grade (and 9th Grade or high school review) digital escape rooms, students will have fun solving two-step, multi-step and systems of equations. Students unlock 4 locks, each of which contain 4 problems. Also great 9th grade or high school review. A GIF or picture (depending on the activity) appears on each lock only after students successfully decode each lock.

    -- Teacher Dashboard & Data:

Not only will students receive basic feedback for correctness on their end; you will instantly be able to view student data in a snapshot on the free teacher dashboard (all digital) to determine gaps and misconceptions. This will help you support student learning via small groups, 1 on 1 support, or whole group. A check mark symbol (on the teacher dashboard) indicates correct answer, whereas "x" indicates incorrect. The dashboard shows the entire class - all students - while also showing their correctness at the same time. Progress monitoring data are essential in order to drive decisions around whether students are meeting the standards and learning goals, all while students are engaging in some fun!

Directions are provided on a slide and also on a short video in the activity. Super easy to implement and straightforward using Desmos, a free and user-friendly platform. Help your students have fun while engaging in mathematics. Pull students in breakout rooms or small groups to support struggling learners!

Use similar triangles to explain why the slope m is the same between any two distinct points on a non-vertical line in the coordinate plane; derive the equation ๐˜บ = ๐˜ฎ๐˜น for a line through the origin and the equation ๐˜บ = ๐˜ฎ๐˜น + ๐˜ฃ for a line intercepting the vertical axis at ๐˜ฃ.
Solve linear equations in one variable.
Give examples of linear equations in one variable with one solution, infinitely many solutions, or no solutions. Show which of these possibilities is the case by successively transforming the given equation into simpler forms, until an equivalent equation of the form ๐˜น = ๐˜ข, ๐˜ข = ๐˜ข, or ๐˜ข = ๐˜ฃ results (where ๐˜ข and ๐˜ฃ are different numbers).
Solve linear equations with rational number coefficients, including equations whose solutions require expanding expressions using the distributive property and collecting like terms.
Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.
