Description

These 120 Powerpoint lessons work hand in hand with the Saxon Course 3 math textbook. If you do not teach the Saxon program then these Powerpoints can be used to help teach the 8th grade Common Core. Each Powerpoint consists of a lesson overview which includes formulas and direct instructions. After that there are several practice problems that allows students to put into practice what they just learned. This is a great opportunity for group work as well as for the teacher to walk around the class and monitor student work. There is one lesson that is missing and that is Lesson 113 which focuses on Scatterplots. This was a very short lesson in the book and is better taught without a Powerpoint lesson. In each presentation there is also a beginning slide that has a bell work question and answer to use as a starter at the beginning of class.

Parallel lines are taken to parallel lines.
Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them.
