Description

Prepare for end of year tests with this review pack. Included are 6 weeks of review sheets, covering the major math standards of the 8th grade.

A four-question review quiz is at the top of each page. Below each quiz is make-up work. Assign students the corresponding make-up work for any question they miss.

Or, the teacher could assign the bottom half of each sheet for practice, and then give the 4-question quiz.

These weekly review sheets are intended to help you and your students see where their strengths and weaknesses are in preparing for end-of-the-year testing. Each sheet lists the standards for the questions. You could chart the class percentages by standard, or have students keep track of their own progress by standard. Complete answer keys are included.

I designed these sheets to save myself time! Print one sheet each week, and it includes the quiz and the make-up work that can be given as homework.

Describe the effect of dilations, translations, rotations, and reflections on two-dimensional figures using coordinates.
Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles. For example, arrange three copies of the same triangle so that the sum of the three angles appears to form a line, and give an argument in terms of transversals why this is so.
Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.
Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find the distance between two points in a coordinate system.
Know and apply the properties of integer exponents to generate equivalent numerical expressions. For example, 3² × (3⁻⁵) = (3⁻³) = 1/3³ = 1/27.
