Description

Product Description for 7th Grade Math Module 1 Topic A-D Lessons 1-19

This download contains 7th grade math Module 1 Topic A-D Lessons 1-19 inspired self-made PowerPoint Lessons from the Engage NY Eureka Math program, and using other various resources (Total 754 slides).

I created/put these PowerPoint lessons together to help me lead my lesson and make sure I covered all the things required such as objective, I “can” statements, vocabulary, lesson summary and exit ticket (when applicable). Each lesson I pulled out what I felt I needed or could use in the time I had.

Remember that all Eureka lessons can be found on their website for FREE…this product is my own lesson plan on how I taught the lessons.

Some items I have put in I ended up skipping due to time constraints but I always tried to make sure I had plenty to do so don’t be surprised if you have to skip a few examples/exercises to keep in your time-frame; either way, these kept my lessons flowing, students engaged throughout, and I have all the answers included so you won’t have to solve anything unless you want to.

All students needed to participate were paper and pencil (a couple lessons require graph paper). I have 12 years teaching experience and my lessons have helped my students perform well on EOY tests and experience tremendous growth as well. All PowerPoint’s are editable should you desire the ability to make changes to fit with your district requirements.

***I did not create a Lesson 8 PowerPoint due to lack of time but also because I wanted to spend extra time on Lesson 11 and 12. As you will notice I used a non-Eureka resource to help better prepare students for their common assessments and Mid-Module 1 Test in both Lesson 11 and 12***

Below I have listed what you will be getting in this download.

Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices; use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Solve problems involving scale drawings of geometric figures, including computing actual lengths and areas from a scale drawing and reproducing a scale drawing at a different scale.
Use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve problems by reasoning about the quantities.
Solve word problems leading to equations of the form 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 = 𝘳 and 𝘱(𝘹 + 𝘲) = 𝘳, where 𝘱, 𝘲, and 𝘳 are specific rational numbers. Solve equations of these forms fluently. Compare an algebraic solution to an arithmetic solution, identifying the sequence of the operations used in each approach. For example, the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm. Its length is 6 cm. What is its width?
